Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
CYHSY are a band that are unsigned and have only one self released album that is currently out of print, but somehow they are the most talked about band on the internet lately. The album has no real standout tracks as all of them are as addictive as the next, they really are very good at what they do. They'll make you dance, sing along, smile and feel good with their hooks and interesting drum loops, the bass is more than addictive too, it's really bloody good.
I can't really think of anyone who sounds even remotely like them and doing a track synopsis is really not my style with this band, they've been compared to all manner of bands from Neutral Milk Hotel to Talking Heads to pre-88 My Bloody Valentine and all of these comparisons, especially in the vocals, are very much warranted.
If you must draw comparisons then the guitars sound like early Modest Mouse, the vocals are being compared to Magnum on Neutral Milk Hotel's "On Avery Island." Vocally the NMH comparison holds a lot of weight but musically they are a lot faster, lyrically a lot more upbeat and the general feel of the music is very different. Either way, this is one of the albums of the year, essential for any music fan, but especiallly one who's looking to have a good time.
There are three tracks available at the band's website but I'll leave you to google their name and click on the first link that comes up, if you wouldn't mind.
Here are your free songs:

I'll DL these tomorrow... I'm assuming they are worth revisiting? I did see potential there... I think Brad liked them as well

Oh yeah man, definitely worth giving another try, it just clicked with me today, maybe it was the fact that I listened with a friend, a beer and the sun but it just seemed really uplifting, especially the guitar tone on some of the songs.
I can see similarities in the vox with radiohead, but that's just me.
but who are you?

After listening to the songs on the album i can see why they are unsigned
I love this fucking band. An example of no rules rock. Do what you want. But make it interesting. Reminds me of Arcade Fire/David Byrne/Wolf Parade..
