Freescha & Kid Kills the Floor

There's something about this record that rings eerily familiar in your ear everytime you hear it, it's probably the perfect disc to look back and evaluate life with, it's simple tunes, it's frail beat, the gentle and slow progression of each song, it's beautiful. Before I listened to the album I had no idea what Freescha sounded like at all, I only knew that they were electronically based, I actually read beforehand that they were glitch IDM, which I can safely say they are not.

The albm begins with it's best song, which perhaps isn't how all albums should be but the atmospheric weight of this disc makes it essential that the band sets the tone as early as possible, and what a good job they do. As I listened to this album by a band I knew very little about I thought it was music that had been adapted strongly from something I'd already found ejoyable but I was wrong, no matter how hard I searched it wasn't there, it was just sound engineered to help the listener familiarise. The record has an echo of Brian Eno in it in the way it aims to take a feeling that the listener can relate to and recreate it sonically to establish comfort. It does more than just pull it off, it perfects it.

I strongly recommend you give this album a go, again it's another disc where I've only shared one song but I think it will show you everything the album is about in just four minutes and eleven seconds...
